Aquimora is a private, curated community for international women living in Lisbon. We are based in Lisbon, Portugal, and operate under EU/GDPR regulations.

What Data We Collect
We collect only what is necessary:
- Email address - when you submit your interest via our sign-up form
- Application responses - when you complete our membership application (name, nationality, profession, and your answers to our questions)
- Instagram handle - optional, only if you choose to provide it
We do not collect payment data directly. Any payment processing is handled by third-party providers under their own privacy policies.
How We Use Your Data
- To send you updates about Aquimora (only if you consented via the checkbox)
- To review your membership application and respond personally
- To communicate with active members about events and community matters
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making.
Legal Basis (GDPR)
We process your data on the following legal bases:
- Consent - for marketing emails (you opted in via checkbox)
- Legitimate interest - to process and respond to your membership application
- Contract - to manage your membership once accepted
Who We Share Data With
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes. We may use the following trusted tools to operate:
- Mailchimp or similar - for email communications (data stored in the EU or under Standard Contractual Clauses)
- Google Workspace - for internal communication and document storage
All third-party processors are bound by data processing agreements in line with GDPR.
How Long We Keep Your Data
- Email subscribers - until you unsubscribe
- Application data - up to 12 months after submission, then deleted
- Member data - for the duration of your membership and up to 24 months after it ends
Your Rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Withdraw consent at any time (for marketing emails - use the unsubscribe link)
- Lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority (CNPD) at cnpd.pt
